Creating new attributes or "fields" that will contain metadata relating to your documents is a simple process.
Log into the VDC and click the ‘Admin’ tab.
Click the ‘Category’ tab.
From the Category page under the ‘Adapter List’ click the ‘Attribute’ link on the left side.
Enter the details of the new attribute.
Name : the database name
Display Name : the name of the field the user will see in screen
Control Type : fields can be created for different functions. Common functions are - list box, text box, date field. There are many other field types available.
Once you have entered the attribute details, click the ‘Add’ button to create the attribute.
Repeat these steps for each new attribute required.
